Welcome Back! A Letter from Mr. Wiebe

Wyngate Elementary School

Welcome Back!

2018-2019

August 2018

Dear Wyngate Students and Families,

I hope that you continue to enjoy your summer with family and friends!  We have been busy preparing for your arrival.  I am so excited to welcome everyone back to Wyngate in August and to continue our collaborative efforts to ensure each and every child is prepared to thrive in his or her future.  Our collective commitment to the whole child will drive our work toward excellence.  We will continue to have high expectations for our students and provide the support, enrichment, and acceleration necessary to meet the needs of all of our students! Our focus this year will allow us to meet the academic, social/emotional, and creative problem solving needs of all children. This year, we are excited to implement opportunities for mindfulness with the support of Mrs. King, our school counselor and all staff.  More to come as we begin the new school year!

I continue to be pleased with the academic achievement of our students.  Our children meet or exceed the MCPS benchmarks in literacy and mathematics in multiple measures.  I look forward to accelerating the growth of all children and helping those students who may need additional support achieve to their full potential.  We look forward to another year of learning together.  Thank you for your continued support!

The Building Services staff led by Ms. Ogburn and Ms. Bush have been working very hard to make our building beautiful.  I know you will join me in thanking them for their hard work.

Continue to enjoy the remaining weeks of summer.  We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, August 30 for our Open House activities! And, if you haven’t already, follow me on Twitter @WyngateES. I’ll be posting information periodically about happenings at Wyngate.

                                                                        Sincerely,

                                                                        Travis J. Wiebe

                                                                        Principal

P.S. If you know of any families who are new to the neighborhood, please encourage them to register as soon as possible.  Information about enrollment can be located here.  Please feel free to encourage them to contact the main office at 240-740-1080.
