Winter weather is in the forecast and we wanted to share information on how you can determine whether there is a delayed opening or closure. As a reminder, if there is a two-hour delay, we will open our doors to students at 10:40, with the school day starting at 11:00 a.m. Students may not be dropped off prior to 10:40 as there is no supervision for them.
MCPS offers numerous ways for families to learn about school closures, delayed openings, and early dismissals due to inclement weather. Sign up for AlertMCPS and receive text messages or e-mails from MCPS during weather-related emergencies and other major events that impact school system operations. Parents can also sign up to receive alerts specific to their child’s school by visiting www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/
Information regarding closures and delays is also available through local TV and radio broadcasts or by visiting the MCPS webpage.
