Please Join Our Town Hall to Discuss the Return to In-person Learning – February 18 at 7:00 pm

For those of you who didn’t sit through the loooong Board of Education meeting on February 9 about the return to in-person learning, you can find a recap from Bethesda Magazine HERE. My key takeways as they relate to Wyngate are:

–Students may choose to continue virtual learning.

–In late February, families will be informed about their student’s virtual/in-person experience, teacher and schedule. You will have a few days to contact the school to request changes from your original selection. Following that, there will be a blackout period where no changes will be permitted to allow the school time to finalize planning.

–March 15: Kindergarten through third grade returns to in-person learning (I believe it will be four days per week at Wyngate)

–April 6: Fourth and fifth grade returns to in-person learning (I believe it will be on an A/B rotating weekly schedule at Wyngate)

–Wednesdays will be virtual classes for all students every week.

–In order for teachers and staff to prepare, there will be no school on March 8, while March 9 and 10 will be reserved for independent learning.

–There will be no changes to the scheduled spring break in late March into early April. The last day of school will remain June 16.

We know that you will have LOTS of questions, so please plan to join Mr. Wiebe for a Town Hall meeting on February 18 at 7pm. You can submit your questions using the link below.

Take a deep breath everyone and remember that teachers, staff and families are all doing their best to manage during these strange times. Hang in there and we’ll make it through this together.

Best,
